Finström, in the heart of Åland. Here you can experience many things: nature, culture and history. In Finström you'll live comfortably in a cabin village, a camping site hotel or a private cabin. Due to Finström's central location distances are short to everywhere in Åland.
Remember these: a church from the 1100's, the von Knorring Museum, the Färjsundsbro bridge with a lookout tower, Åland's folk college. The sports halls of Åland's Idrottscenter, with a super-modern indoor swimming-bath with 8 25-meter tracks, and Breidablick offer excellent opportunities for e.g. training camps. As a novelty in 2006 also a 63-km hiking track Sadelin through Finström and Hammarland. Finström was chosen as the travel municipality of the year in 1999 and 2002!

Ilomantsi) and road No 66 (Orivesi-Lapua). The passanger traffic between Ähtäri and Tampere passes Virrat.

Isojoki derives its name from the river which flows through the town. The river is known for its fishing places and fish-breeding. Lauhanvuori National Park at the top of Western Finland (231 m) is also situated in Isojoki. The town offers all kinds of countryside, farm holidays and programme services.

Hattula, the municipality of the Finnish language, is one of the oldest in Häme region. Throughout the centuries these industrious people have toiled to convert the shores of Lake Vanajavesi into fertile arable land. Old buildings, the most outstanding of which is the Church of the Holy Cross , seem to belong to this landscape. The church is open 15.5.-15.8. 11-17, tel. 03-6723383. Municipal centre Parola offers various services. There are year-round art exhibitions in the attic of Juteinitalo.
On the Parola moors is stationed a tank brigade, which is one of the biggest army units in the country. It was on the same moor in 1993 that Hattula proclaimed itself to be a municipality of the Finnish language. Hattula can be reached by Motorway 3 (=E12) and road 57, in summer by water via the Vanajavesi route.

Suomussalmi's varied nature offers the traveller versatile ways of recreation. The Hossa camping area, the Martinselkonen preservation area and the Ylivuokki recreational area offer a nature lover a lot to do and experience.
Manmade hiking routes can be found all over the parish, and Hossa has excellent canoeing opportunities. During the winter there are mechanically tended ski tracks in the Haverinen Skiing Centre and Hossa. There are also ca. 350 km of tended motor sledge tracks in the municipality area. The sea opening from Pyhäranta, the cliffs, the rocky forests and several lakes and small rivers form the versatile nature of Pyhäranta, in the middle of which the inhabitants of Pyhäranta have lived for centuries.
