Sund has been nominated the tourist municipality of year 2000 in Åland. Kastelholma castle, the remains of the Bomarsund fortress and the open-air museum Jan Karlsgården are important places to see. The municipality is located about 25 km from Mariehamn.

Hiking in Sund:
Prästö cultural path (5,5 km). The path starts from the Prästö pilotage hut and runs through old Russian graveyards and signal station. Marked cultural paths also in Bomarsund and Kasteholma.
Hiking route (15 km) between Kastelholma and Bomarsund connects two villages and cultural paths.
